Distressed Bleached T-Shirt DIY Project

I wanted to share with you guys a fun and easy Distressed Bleached T-Shirt DIY Project that I did last week! It was quick and fun, and I cannot wait to do it again. I will now forever be on the hunt for the perfect old black shirts to annihilate! See my YouTube video at the end and easy steps below with photos!

STEPS:
  • T-SHIRT: Get a black t-shirt that you want to distress. I prefer a large men's t-shirt that is a little more stiff - not the soft ones that are more in style these days. You can get a cool shirt from the men's section at Target, or cruise your local thrift store. OR, in my case, go through your man's donation pile and look for something free and interesting!

  • CUT: Cut holes all over the arms, all over the collar, through the mid part of the shirt, rip up the sleeves, cut slashes in the back if you want, scrape your scissors along the shirt. Make sure you do this over an area you don't want to scratch, like an old carpet or the grass outside. Use sharp scissors, fabric shears work best. Stretch the holes where you want your cut to look a little less messy.

  • BLEACH: Fill up a spray bottle with 1/10 of bleach, and the rest water. Lay your shirt outside in an area that you can get messy. Spray all over the shirt where you want the black to look bleached out. Less bleach sitting for a lesser amount of time will be an orange look and more bleach and more time soaking will look more yellow like mine. You can also fill a dropper with bleach to make the bigger splats all over, which I also did. Let dry in the air or sun for 15 min or more, depending on the color you are looking for.

  • RINSE & DRY: Rinse the shirt in warm water until the water runs clear, wring the shirt out, throw it in the dryer for about 10 minutes, making sure it doesn't drip on any of your other clothes, then hang overnight to dry.
  • ROCK IT: Rock your DIY shirt that nobody else in the world has!

Here is the YouTube video, if you would rather listen!!!

Let me know if you have any questions! There are tons of YouTube videos that explain the steps in better visual detail if you want more instruction! If you make one, tag me so I can see it!

Weekly Skincare Routine

Every Saturday or Sunday when I am relaxing I love to do my skincare ritual to get ready for the week ahead. Sometimes it is during the day, sometimes before bed. Here are some of my favorite tools. I posted this on Instagram a few weeks ago and I will finally go through my routine for you guys below!

My weekly skincare routine:
  1. I wash my face with my current favorite cleanser and my Clarisonic Cleansing System.
  2. Then, I (carefully) shave my face with a Tinkle Razor and Marula Beauty Oil
  3. I then use my Tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser, which is amazing!
  4. I roll my face after that with my Ora Microneedle Age Roller System, which provides SO many benefits.
  5. Then, I PMD my face all over (this is my favorite part), with this personal microderm kit. I use the sensitive discs.
  6. I relax with some oxygen eye masks, then..
  7. I end it all by slathering my face with my favorite night time face cream

Let me know if you have any questions about details!
I would love to know what your weekly routine is!

XOXO,
GretchCannon
